Julian Velard

Julian Velard
Singer, Songwriter, Native New Yorker, son of a French ATM designer and 4-Time Jeopardy champion from Alabama, and former video delivery boy to the Stars, Julian Velard has taken the scenic route. He's worked a slew of bizarre jobs to support himself, anything from teaching gym to kindergarteners, to a stint with the Paris Department of Sanitation. Wearing his world weariness in a whisky baritone that has been compared to both sides of Tom (Waits and Jones) and all sorts of Morrison (Van and Jim), Julian finds pop songs in unlikely places: Landmines, Dinner Plates, What you left behind the couch, even Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Julian's music falls somewhere along the line of classic psych (as in psychiatric) 2006 piano pop, cum 1979 style Rock and Roll. In the summer of 2007, Julian found his home with the UK label, Charisma/EMI and in August 2007 will head into the studio to begin work on his major label debut, set for release in February 2008.   Web Site
